Job Description

Flight Attendant

The full scope of Flight Attendant responsibilities in support of RTX-owned or leased aircraft include in-flight safety, security, passenger service and aircraft readiness. This is both a flying and ground-based operational position. When not assigned to a flight, the incumbent remains responsible for assigned administrative, financial, inventory, stockroom, planning and departmental duties that support safe, efficient and cost-effective flight operations.

What You Will Do

Flight Safety, Readiness and Passenger Service

  • Perform Flight Attendant duties aboard RTX-owned or leased aircraft, supporting the safe and secure transportation of RTX personnel, customers and authorized guests. Maintain situational awareness and exercise sound judgment in all in-flight and on the ground decisions.
  • Execute all assigned duties in accordance with applicable FAA and ICAO requirements, RTX Flight policies and procedures, standard operating procedures, and current IS-BAO requirements.
  • Ensure all activities comply with all appropriate RTX, EH&S, and Ethics policies and guidelines.
  • Prepare the cabin, galley, emergency equipment and passenger-service supplies for each trip. Confirm aircraft readiness, conduct required safety checks, monthly 5S's and coordinate with flight crew members and ground personnel to ensure trip readiness.
  • Apply Crew Resource Management principles and use all available resources, including checklists, aircraft systems information, other crew members and operational support personnel.
  • Maintain current knowledge of aircraft systems, emergency procedures, flight procedures, passenger-service standards and applicable regulations.
  • Anticipate passenger requirements and deliver discreet, personalized and professional service while keeping all requests within the parameters of flight safety and company policy.
  • Coordinate and evaluate catering, food, materials and services provided by local, domestic and international vendors to ensure appropriate quality, reliability and reasonable cost.

Ground-Based, Administrative and Ancillary Responsibilities

  • Participate in the organization, operation and ongoing processes of the Passenger Services Duties, such as, but not limited to stockroom, including receiving, stocking, labeling, rotating and safeguarding supplies; maintaining cleanliness and order; monitoring par levels and expiration dates; and reporting shortages, waste or discrepancies.
  • Support inventory control and cost-management processes by maintaining accurate records, identifying opportunities to reduce waste, following approved purchasing and replenishment practices, and using company resources responsibly.
  • Prepare, reconcile and submit expense reports, receipts and all required supporting documentation accurately and by established deadlines. Promptly resolve missing information, returned submissions or discrepancies.
  • Plan and execute trip-related purchases, catering, supplies and services within approved budgets and spending guidelines. Obtain required approvals, use preferred vendors.
  • Complete assigned departmental projects and recurring administrative duties, which may include passenger-profile documentation, city profile documentation, vendor coordination, supply and equipment research, aircraft provisioning standards, records management, process improvement, safety reporting, training support and office or facility organization.
  • Maintain availability and productivity during scheduled non-flying work periods, attend required meetings and training, monitor and respond to department communications, and provide timely status updates on assigned work.
  • Share responsibility for department-wide operational readiness. Partner with colleagues, accept equitable assignments, take ownership of tasks and follow through on commitments without requiring repeated direction.

Travel & Availability

  • Must be able and willing to travel worldwide without restriction based on business and passenger requirements, including travel throughout the Middle East and other international destinations as necessary.
  • Must maintain the flexibility and availability required for changing schedules, extended trips, weekends, holidays, irregular hours and short-notice assignments, consistent with department scheduling practices and applicable requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior business aviation experience as a Flight Attendant.
  • Valid certificate of training from an approved cabin safety training provider, such as FACTS/Aircare International or FlightSafety International, including training in the management of in-flight illness and injury, CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator.
  • Demonstrated culinary, food-safety, presentation and executive-service experience.
  • Must maintain a primary residence within one hour's driving distance of the assigned RTX Flight Department base.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated customer focus and strong oral and written communication skills with all levels of staff.
  • Must be flexible, enjoy travel and maintain a calm, positive and professional demeanor under stress.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage administrative assignments, inventory, receipts, expense reports and deadlines with accuracy and limited supervision.
  • Ability to exercise cost-conscious judgment, follow approved budgets and purchasing processes, and maintain accurate financial and operational records.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and technology skills, including the ability to manage multiple trip-related and ground-based responsibilities concurrently.
