Requirements:
We are a busy, active family living in Belmont, NC. Life in our home is full of energy, laughter, packed calendars, sports equipment in every corner, and the kind of joyful chaos that comes with raising a large family. Our children range in age from elementary school through college, which means there is always something happening and no two days look exactly the same. Both of us have demanding careers. One parent works primarily from home but travels frequently, while the other is self-employed and has an especially busy season from January through May. As a result, we're looking for someone who can help keep the household running smoothly through both the everyday routines and the busier seasons of life.
Between school schedules, extracurricular activities, family commitments, work obligations, and everything in between, our household stays active year-round. We genuinely enjoy being together, supporting our kids' interests, and creating a home that feels welcoming, connected, and well-loved. We've had wonderful household support over the years, but as our family has grown, so have our needs. We're looking for a true household partnersomeone who can help us stay organized, keep things moving behind the scenes, and allow us to spend more time being present with our family.
The areas where we could use the most support are the day-to-day responsibilities that keep a busy household functioning well. Laundry is probably our biggest pain point, along with maintaining organization systems, keeping up with daily tidying and resets, coordinating drop-offs and pick-ups, and helping manage the constant flow of sports schedules, camps, and activities. We'd also love support with meal prep, vendor coordination, home projects, and the many household logistics that can quickly become a significant mental load.
While household management is the primary focus of the role, flexibility is incredibly important to us. Some days may be heavily project- or household-focused, while others may require jumping in to help with transportation, after-school support, or childcare-related needs. We're looking for someone who approaches the role with a team-first mindset, understands that priorities can shift, and is willing to step in where support is needed most. Ultimately, we want a true household partner who helps us stay ahead of the chaos rather than constantly reacting to it.
At the end of the day, our goal is simple: we want a home that feels calm, organized, and supported, even during the busiest seasons. We value open communication, mutual respect, and a collaborative approach, and we're committed to creating a positive, long-term working relationship where everyone feels appreciated and set up for success.
You are naturally proactive and have a knack for walking into a home, assessing what needs attention, and jumping in without needing constant direction. You enjoy creating order, building systems, and finding ways to make everyday life run more smoothly. You're confident taking ownership of your responsibilities, but you're also collaborative and know when to ask questions or bring something to our attention.
You are warm, approachable, and easy to be around. You enjoy working with children and teenagers and understand how to connect with different personalities and age groups. Whether you're helping navigate a busy afternoon, driving to activities, running errands, supporting a teenager, or helping manage the flow of a large household, you bring a calm and steady presence.
You thrive in a home that is active, evolving, and sometimes unpredictable. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by a busy household, you're energized by it. You take pride in creating calm amidst the chaos, helping families stay organized, and becoming the kind of person everyone is relieved and happy to see walk through the door.
Most importantly, you're a team player. You communicate openly, tackle challenges directly, and believe that great household support comes from partnership, trust, and shared goals. You don't wait to be told what needs to happen nextyou notice what needs attention and take initiative. If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
